Settle button not available for Waiter on Tablet

Hi, is there anyway that there is NO Settle Button available if we Login as Waiter as the Cashier has only this option.
The Waiter has a tablet to only take orders and print Bill but no access to Settle the Bill.

Yes, you can map buttons (automation commands) to multiple options, User/user Role seems like the option for you. :slight_smile:

As I’m quite new with the forum and SambaPos, can you give a little more explanation how to achieve this result.

Allot of settings in Samba are mapped to a set of conditions, things like;
Department
Ticket Type
User Role
Ticket Status
Visibility (Location for buttons)

Automation commands (Buttons - Not menu items but function buttons like settle etc) have options of;
Terminal
User Role
Department
Ticket Type
Enabled Status
Visible Status
Visibility (Location for buttons)

These will define when/where the button with be viable and useable.
If you got to Manager --> Automation --> Automation Commands --> Select Settle Command --> Choose mappings tab you will see, I think by default it will pretty much be mapped to virtually everything with a * in each column.

You would want to change say the user role to ‘Cashier’ if that’s the user role or you could map to only be available on certain terminals.

Its hard to give exact instructions without knowing how you have used users/terminals and other factors in your setup but hope that explains enough for you to understand.

If you explain how you are defining between waiter and cashier I could be more specific.
Are they only using specific terminals? Have you got user roles for waiter and cashier?

No need to puzzle he told you the exact steps above, add mapping and select cashier for user role, only the cashiers will see the settle button

Hi RickH, JTRTech, thanks for the solution, did take me only one minute.
I really Like SambaPos even as newbie, I start understanding more and more the easy of doing things.
Yes, I have separate terminals for each function. The waiter is having a tablet with RDP installed.

@Peter_Cijsouw the more you learn and do with it eventually it will all click for you. When it does you will have unlimited capability with what you want to do.
