Does anyone know how I would go about creating a task editor with ticket contents and a complete action to “mark them off”. I have Kitchen Display screens but I need one for my waiters that will show all the tickets in their full format (drinks+food) and then close them off when closed. I have not been able to do this so far, I know I can use a ticket lister widget however that consumes too much memory on my system.
@Jesse - On a tablet with 2GB of memory when I use ticket lister (even filtering only last 20 minutes) I often get “out of memory” exceptions when loading the screen with the lister widget, the tablet otherwise performs very well with SambaPOS, I have since switched to the “Task Editor” and it has worked well so far.
I was able to create a full ticket display by having an action that fires a print rule with a template on ticket close. The main issue I am having now is that tickets printed to the newly created task editor are ignoring all ticket formatting and displaying formatting tags as raw text.
See my reply on the other Topic regarding splitting or combining Orders onto a single “Ticket” Task Card, which has to do with how you set the Task Identifier, and how you submit Orders. If you want all Orders on a single Task Card for example, you might try setting the Identifier to use only the Ticket Id or Ticket Number…
(Id={TICKET NO})
I think that kind of defeats the purpose of a KDS in that all Orders for a Ticket will be in the same Task Card, you you cannot specify which Orders are Complete, and which are not.
Show a screenshot of that and post your Template.
You do now. The new features added to the Task Editor Widget should work perfectly for you since you will be able to combine all Orders to a single “Ticket” Task Card, yet still be able to Complete individual Orders within the Card! Basically, a Task Grouping feature has been added that you can configure to group Orders as you want (ie. by Table, Product, Ticket, etc.) Just note that it is still Beta, and you will need to work out how those new features work, but Emre has a little demo of the features in the .61 Beta Topic to get you started.
