Tax not adding up correctly

Hi, I have a problem with my tax setup on Samba…
I have 2 tax templates, one for VAT10% and one for 20%, mapped to corresponding item groups.
But, for example, a beer is 2,50€, and taxed at 20%. But on payment screen, I have this :

So it says tax total is 0.42, but 20% of 2.50 isn’t 0.42…

Any ideas?

Thanks !

Looks like you are including tax. Look at your total balance. It’s not doing 20% of 2.50. 2.50 is your total after tax.

Either kendash got it with you want to change to not include tax in prices or… I believe he would drawer that conclusion first being as in US where prices are often exc tax due to diferent state taxes etc unlike myself from UK where retail/consumer prices are always shown inc tax which if thats the case, your looking at it wrong, if £2.50 is the price including tax 0.42 is correct as tax wont be 20% of the gross total figure it is 20% of the net ‘pre tax’ amount.
Ie 2.50 total including tax would be £2.08 exc tax with (2.08*0.2=0.416 rounded to 0.42 tax) making the total 2.50.
A total gross value is including 20% tax not 20% of the total is tax. Doesnt sound that different but multiply it out into 100k of says and its something you want to be clear on as not to pay more tax than you need to
This is why your ticket toal and balance are the same amount, is it were as kendash said price list etc was exc tax the total would be 2.08 and it would show tax and baance would be the sum ie
2.50 total plus 0.50 tax making balance 3.00.
If you price your products including tax what you show is correct for a 20% tax, if your
If your looking at is in the same way we handle VAT in UK.
