Ticket Type Multiple Entities

I have created a new ticket type for a special senior citizen program called senior resource. There are special vouchers that are brought in and they do not pay they only pay with the voucher. I have created all the accounting and payment screen that the cashier uses the voucher button to ring them up with and all this works. The problem im having is when they sit at a table i need to assign a table entity to the senior resource entity and have the table appear as ticket open when the hostess is looking at the screen to see what tables are open. How can i do this if the ticket types are different?

This seems to work if you have a customer selected say but want to assign them to a table… So im assuming its a issue of it being a different ticket type.

You can have any entity type on any ticket type. Is your entity type selected under Ticket Type settings?

Yes, but when i select the two entities… i see that the entity screen for the tables is shown as occupied but when i select the table it tried to open a new ticket instead of displaying the ticket with the table entity assinged to it.

So there is an issue in your automation. You have must have Change Ticket Entity action somewhere in your rules that is doing that or something similar.

When i select the Table from the entity screen correct? Im not seeing a change entity rule setup… Here is my flow… click automation command button that brings up the senior resource entity search window… we find the senior resource account… then click select senior resource and it asks for the voucher number before going to the ticket screen… Once on the ticket screen the voucher number is posted as a ticket tag and the window to select a table entity is shown. After that the staff puts in the order and closes the ticket. Table entity shows as occupied on the table entity screen but when you click the table entity button it creates a new ticket instead of opening the current senior resource ticket that the entity is assigned to.

Weird thing is if i create a ticket then go to the ticket list it shows the multiple tickets… top one is the senior resource ticket…

I am not sure I am following, you will have to share your rules and actions on what you are doing for me to spot an issue.

I think my problem is that i have two different ticket types… Ticket and Senior Resource Ticket.

I guess do i need to rethink the senior resouce… do i need it to be a different ticket type… or can it just be a different department? Its maily to not allow any other type of payment type to be used when creating a senior resource ticket since it has a special menu and the numbers need to be counted separate from the rest of the system.

So how exactly do you make this Voucher codes? Is it something you keep track of or do you type in the code for your senior customers?

You can use mappings or ask question pop ups to guide staff in certain direction.

Since you dont allow any payments, where are those tickets settled? On the voucher debit account?

the vouchers are pre printed by the city. These are random each time so the staff has to enter them manually into the system. Each senior is only allowed 10 vouchers per month.

yes I already have this setup and it works. The main issue is assinging them to a table since its a sitdown retaurant i want the hostess staff to be able to see that the table is occupied

yes those are settled using the account. there is a voucher button that is chosen on the payment screen when the order is completed

So why not create a new entity for every single voucher code instead of using ticket tags? And use reporting tags to pull out individual tickets using TCET expression?

This way every voucher will be accounted for, all the tickets shown and you can break it down in a report where only voucher entities were used. And you wont need another ticket type or ticket tag.

There must be something in your automation or action that is responsible for this. I had a setup of 2 ticket and 5 entity types and this never happened.

They have to keep track of each person and what they each. Its a portion controlled program for nutrition purposes so the menu is specific. If each voucher creates a new entity then we cant keep track of whos eating what and how many times they have come in. Can i PM you my database for you to take a look at i because im missing something as far as the automation must go.

Havent gone live yet with it… just trying to work out little kinks and make changes that are needed before we do.

Of course if they are using same voucher multiple times, it wont create an account it will just debit it for the total of the ticket.

If vouchers are used only once and each senior has 10 different vouchers than it should be creating new entity for each one of them. Thats how I see it anyway

Yeah sure, send it.

Yea its different Vouchers every time they visit… But its a set list of people with a Senior Resource account number… so we are storing the account number and persons first and last name.

K sent it! Let me know because i dont think i jacked anything up but its possible!

You should be able to create a senior resource ticket… then select a table entity… but when you try to open the ticket using the Table Numbered entity button on the entity screen it will try to create a new ticket. Which I thought was how it was supposed to work but was just trying to see if i could get it to work for the table to show as occupied.

If you can look at the Accounting stuff for the Senior Resource too cause i might have that wrong too… im not an accounting person… not even a restaurant person… Im just setting the system up for my parents… Im system networking administrator so programming is not my forte… I can setup complex vlans with multiple subnets but this stuff always stumps me lol
