Transfering a database to a new server

Hi, i need to instal sambapos on a new server. I use sambaposV5 with a sql server 2017.
But i’ve a problem to restore the database.

Could you help me please?

Make a backup of the default database first, click “OK” on the dialog asking to allow access to the folder. Once SambaPOS sets the permissions, you should be able to restore from the default backup folder.

Alternatively, you can move the backups to, eg, c:\datbase_backups then specify that folder in backup settings and you should be good-to-go.

Thanks so much, how do you do the backup of the default data base?

i tryed a backup from the database, but i can’t opened it on the new server?

Try different backup directory, Windows is quite strict on permissions for user directory.

Fresh install on a new system login with default admin pin then go and perform a backup. YOu’ll be prompted to set permissions.

Did you backup from within SambaPOS or, SQL Server or SSMS?
