Is it connected via RDP?
Yes all tablets are connected via rdp to a back server computer that has rdp wrapper installed which basically allows multiple windows users to be logged in at once (alternative to the rdp hack suggested on this forum)
So on that tablet can you confirm it is assigned Tablet 4? It would be under its Local Settings > terminal Name.
Yup. Iāll check again now to confirm. But I assigned each tablet to their own terminal. Btw for future preference are we allowed to make one terminal called tablet and use that for all tablets since all rules are the same for them.
Yeah I know what you mean Iāll check again to confirm
Just confirmed. Tablet 4 is selected under terminal name for that tablet. If you go into previous tickets you should see a couple of them with the user *
That doesnt just happen you need to find out in detail what they were doing before it happened. Any information might lead to a clue. That means the user was logged out.
The database you sent has 2 tickets affected both are open tickets not paid all the paid tickets have users assigned. I am looking but I dont see anything in particular.
Yes, its up to you, obviously the terminal allocated will define rules and mapping etc and be tagged in the ticket. There is nothing stopping you using a ācassā structure for terminals, I do usually define one for each terminal/device.
I checked your setup and tried to reproduce that but I canāt reproduce it. As nobody knows how / when / why it happens Iāll pray before sleeping maybe God knows thatā¦ OK well seriously your users can help us. Just ask them to let you know when that button disappears so we may have an idea about the issue. Or maybe disable auto logout completely on all terminals so if it fixes the issue we may guess it is related with auto logout or terminal setup.
This is odd. What confuses me is that it happens daily with different users on different terminals I think.
I am thinking it may be related to the RDP setup and one terminal configured as Auto Logoutā¦ Hard to say though.[quote=āeddhasaj, post:29, topic:12978, full:trueā]

Its really important that you either see this happen yourself or you get accurate detailed information from them about when it happens. Historically from what you have discussed here it sounds like they dont always give you the most useful information.
That is unfortunately really hard to do although it seems simple. They honestly are extremely slow people. I ask them and they cant explain something simple. They just say I was using it and it happened. They also dont realize until kitchen complains that they cant see user on ticket so they cant really pinpoint when it started doing it exactly what button they pressed that made it happen.
I completely understand that but from our vantage point and with all the information we have right now its a crapshoot of what it could be. Its highly doubtful its a bug but even if it was we have no way to know right now.
But what you should do now is approach them and explain to them its VERY important that they get this information to you and you require them to pay attention to that so you can work out this issue. If they refuse to do that then what else can you do?
Should I disable log out feature and just create action and rule to log out user when order submitted? and see how that goes tomorrow?
Okay, I told my uncle to ask them but he usually cant get much explanation out of them either.
I thought you said you were not using that? Just try disabeling it from terminal 3 for a bit see if it happens againā¦
im not on tablets, but i am on waitress station
LOL they gotta give you something. I mean if they refuse to work with you to try and fix an issue this important to themā¦ then you might recommend them use pen and paper so they can support their own mistakes.
Ive looked over those 2 ticketsā¦ only thing I can think of is if they were reopened on the terminal that has auto logout and then left open and updated at some point changing user to * But that is unlikely.
My gut feeling is it has to do with the RDP setup for some reason and that tablet is getting auto logged out.
Do you have separate windows user accounts for each rdp tablets? Did you moved localsettings file to each usersā folder?
I setup multiple users yes every tablet has its own user account! but I did not move localsettings file to each users folder. To be honest I was unaware that needed to be done. The settings showed differently for each tablet, meaning each tablet has its own terminal showing up so I figured it did have its own local settings file or else when I changed the terminal on one user account the other one would show the same.
My uncle is saying that he thinks it might of started doing it after the autologout feature was enabled on waitress station.
How do I move local settings file to each users folder?
That should help you.
