Was asking about the numberpad box as thinking posibly the barcode scanner does not had enter/return suffix
The rule handles that without needing Enter or Return.
Sorry for all questions but we need these details.
yes in POS screen. It scans products fine. Iām not sure what tells it, it is a ticket and note a product
I will double check no other ticket active. I know what you mean, I will test now.
You do not have anyother active tickets right? Can you Show a screenshot of the POS screen when you scan it. If you have automation for adding Ticket Tags etcā¦ it might be opening a ticketā¦
Try pressing close button and then scan it to test that. if your entering POS screen by selecting Table or Entity then it may not work.
I am an idiot. I believe I didnāt have a fresh pos screen. It appears to work.
Are you sure??
Am positive last time I setup a barcode scanner I had to configure it to follow scan with or whatever the suffix is.
Same as the issue on login screen with cheap MSR reader without option for suffix.
If it doesnt need enter/return how does it no when to stop reading the value and processā¦ when you typed a number for quantry it would try and scan for product barcode?
Although hes sorted already
You wouldnāt believe how long I tried looking for something complicated and it was as simple as making sure it was a completely new ticket
Thanks so much, sorry for wasting your time. Iām sure you will be hearing from me again.
I would believe that It makes sense thats why I asked it. You could automate it so to close current ticket firstā¦ simply add Close Ticket action into your rule before Display Ticket action.
I will try that, thanks.
Think through your flow carefully if you do that. It will close any ticket currently on screen and immediately display the ticket you scanned. So if you need to ensure something is done with previous ticket you might want to think that through.
There might be some variance with specific hardware but for most part it shouldnāt matter.
I think by that you mean some hardware has by default.
I definatly had to scan the admin barcode to enable on the scanner I used last, else it just yped the number in and did nothing else. Obviously this might be permanently enabled or set by default on some scanners.
Most cheap basic barcode scanners that plug in USB do not need to be programmed. They will just work. But there might be a few (Sounds like you found some) that might need to be configured.
I now have a weirder problem. The barcode is scanning correctly. I can see it entered and there is a pause (Iām on a remote computer) It then displays a previously paid ticket. I will try and trouble shoot, unless this sounds familiar to someone.
But that doesnt mean return/enter is not needed, just that they probably have enabled by default
Is it the right ticket ID? Is the barcode correct, if you use notpad is the opened ticket id the same as the barcode number in notpad?
