Samba market not working

Yes it can alleviate the check.

Yeah this is my belief too, it is a pity we never got any real clarity on it though. You know I use many software that requires activation, SambaPOS is the only one that loses activation (unless of course you change your PC significantly like add extra hardware). I know activation is important, but de-activating so easily is frustrating and loses trust for everyone involved, and since resellers are now more in the front, we are the ones who will receive the hassle. I recall a post a long time ago about the logout from samba market will stop some type of on-going checks, I can’t say I 100% if it makes a difference myself as I have done both and seen this issue recur.

But it is quite short sighted approach again - SambaPOS has many users in developing areas where internet is very unstable, or they might not have system connected to internet, and they are getting de-activated. It is not the experience you expect when you pay for a license, and not particularly fair also.

After you Activate in sambamarket (inside SambaPOS), LOGOUT. That will keep it from checking AFAIK.

Doesn’t always work, I’ve had de-activation with some clients even after doing this.

Tell me something I have a database which is licensed and live right now.
If I backup that database and paste somewhere else. And login with new license and activate it, is it ok?

Yes you can restore the database to another system then apply a new license, it won’t affect the original license because the license isn’t transferred in the backup.

I think the new licensing system is not working as they probably expected. I wish they consider a QUICK solution for the many of us that need new LICENSES soon to continue the process, otherwise new versions may not make much sense. I have contacted 3 resellers, they are all scary!!! They don’t know what they are doing, they do not provide information or a trustworthy website.

Becoming a reseller requires time and money investment so there is no solution for those of us who need a license TODAY.

Are you one of those that procrastinates the purchase of the license up to the last minute? If so, we are doomed for now!!!

I hope someone out there can PLEASE be kind and help us

Please PM me. I’m one of the certified resellers. I’ll help you get one is you are having issues. They changed the system so only resellers can issue licenses. Apologies if you encountered any bad experiences. Hope I can help

Im a listed reseller… admitedly my sebsite is pretty limited but EPOS is not my main line of business.
As for information, its not necerserally resellers fault.
This change in practice in selling through resellers was not know to us untill they had done it and a user raised the question…
I can happily sell a licence and mark it up but my main consern with it is these reoccurring market/licence issues.
If I sell a licence and end user isnt happy and does chargeback I will end up out of pocket :frowning:

Honestly Samba POS should setup at least a region for resellers that can sell product to.
And global resellers is like Kendash and QMcKay which are the one can sell globally as we know these 2 are very very great individual and never get any penny helping us here.

If they are up for it, neither are really resellers as far as I understand, they are dedicated samba users but have never that I have seen either refer to a client so the question is do they want to do that.

Yes, they aren’t. But reseller need to purchase starter pack which I think it should not apply to them if someone can’t find reseller in their region so they can contact them or Samba refer to them. I know they are not here to make money. I know they won’t steal reseller customers if there is seller in the region. And it help prevent reseller fighting across the region.

Maybe resellers that never contribute here should be able to sell only in their country (local) and like JTR, Markjw, Shivan, GreatShakeBars, Pauln and those regular here should be regional reseller.

So user → local reseller → regional → global

Just my 2 cents.

I’m a reseller, I just haven’t looked into it yet. Not sure what it entails

Likewise, I have a reseller account… But like greatshakes I haven’t looked at what the plan is.
Like I said my main consern is the current lack of communication from Samba now emre has gone quiet… If there is a licence issue which is posible and recent issues have lowered confidence in samba team, we have to hope that Tayfun will respond and if customer unhappy we are left in the learch for something we don’t have any info on.
As said before, resellers should have been briefed before the change to reseller only licence.
@sukasem not sure what you refer to a reseller pack?

I just inquire about becoming reseller. Tayfun said to become reseller it need to buy starter pack 10 licenses $1000.

No that was to be Included as a reseller in their front page

I think it change now because they don’t want to sell it to individual or they need big money up front lol.

Oh wait you’re right

If you want to become a reseller, you should purchase Reseller Starter Pack (1000 USD) from reseller portal. It includes 10 piece SambaPOS V5 Pro licenses. You need to publish a webpage for SambaPOS V5 Pro features at your website to be on the resellers list on sambapos.com

Apologies if it looks like I don’t contribute much, I can only contribute as much as I confidently know. I’m currently a reseller for Australia and so far sambapos is part of my main business, so I’m actively selling and have a fair client base which keeps me reallllyyy busy. However as much time as I can spare I’m on the forums practically everyday watching and seeing where I can further contribute. I’m not here to steal anyone’s business, just trying to help. However like all current resellers I’m also left in the dark about the changes.

I’m trying to learn 3 coding languages that can help module development while tackling client queries on a daily basis. I’m hoping one day I can contribute in a big way where it can benefit everyone.
Apologies again for any misunderstanding

I had a reseller account and recently was told need to buy a reseller starter pack out of the blues and then the next min my reseller panel looks all different. I wasnt given any communication over the coming changes. I have emailed SambaPos a few times to find out more info about where the resellers could get some info on about doing things, upcoming updates and what to expect from Sambapos in upcoming future. While we have been busy planning a new office for our POS solutions, putting a team together for support. While we are few months from going and selling Sambapos with support, we get asked to buy a starter pack after having a reseller account for over 6 months.

This has thrown spanner in the works for us. Not sure if we would have a resolution on this.

Sambapos has gone from being a community based solution to being somthing completely different. Not sure where its going.

Hopefully all our questions would be answered soon and our confidence in this great product is not breached.
