What’s new in 5.7.2

  • Customer Display App added. You can use this without any Internet Browser (like IE or etc)
  • Plese check Customer Display app in Custom Printer add on settings.
  • Time Clock improvements like dark theme…

Upgraded from 5.3.6 no real issue.

I did have to uninstall the custom printers then reinstall to see the browser printer. Looks like I need to do some edits in my index.html file.

Hello,

With the update made by Microsoft, the use of Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and above operating systems has been completely canceled.

We quickly took action upon this situation and released an update for the customer screen on the SambaPOS side.

You need to update the SambaPOS version by downloading it from the link. Make sure that you take a backup your database before updating.

If you are already using a customer screen after the SambaPOS update is completed, update the settings of the printer you defined for the customer screen as indicated in the image.

If you have a problem, you can check the customer screen document.

Did you download 5.7.2?
We did identify a migration bug from older databases where it didnt create the Name field in TimeClockEntries table.

yes i downloaded 5.7.2 a few mins ago and decided to update

Ok it seems we have not updated the fixed version yet. I can tell you the sql you need to do to correct it… but we will upload a new version that fixes that bug.

One moment ill get you the SQL

Actually @Lloyd_Tailor can you pm me a copy of your database so we can be sure its the same issue.

i sent the database backup…pm sent

Ok we will look give us 1 hour.

Hey guys.
Im testing out the customer display app.
Got a couple of issues.

The app does not display total, and when a ticket is settled, it does not clear the display to blank screen or any default screen. It just freezes there.

  1. Opening the html.index using say MS Edge or Opera or Chrome… When taking an order, it does not update the page. I have to constantly refresh the page for it to update.

Re: TimeClock.

The Reports section does not include any default templates.
When creating a new report, you can select Users as an example and leave the fields selected.
But how do we then view report data?

Also, when a user has clocked in and out, we get a report on the right, but the “T” colum shows blank. What is this meant to show?

Also click on the “Report” button at the bottom, It does practically nothing. What is it meant to do?
The knowledgebase article doesn’t quite explain much about it
8.13. How to Configure Time Clock Module? – SambaPOS Knowledgebase

We are still rapidly working to add more for the time clock but to answer a few questions. The report engine is new and it’s completely different. After you select the fields and sort method you save it then double click it and choose show. You can print it if you like. Also the button you asked about will load a report it takes a bit but it will load in its own window.

You can customize your report with a gui after you save it. Add graphs etc.T will be for tips. We will be adding declare tip options etc.

The new one is not built for using edge or chrome it’s got its own. We will improve it but just understand your second question is not part of that feature. We used chrome. Engine.
