Slowdown With Task Types

I am exploring an integrated managed gift card program that will use the Card Machine.

Ive thought about that and its easy to do but quickly realized it was a bad idea since they hit you with processing fees on gift cards lol. Complete joke. No thanks ill just store 1gb of data myself locally for free

Depends on the deal you can get. Some are a flat fee and you can pass that on to the customer. Most of the main competitors charge a monthly flat fee for gift cards so its not so uncommon.

Yeah but thats another thing you have working against you when trying to sell samba. Youll see when you get out there to sell. In my area at least. Its a war zone man theres hundreds of pos companies all fighting against each other. I have to please in every avenue or I lose. A lot ask me about gift cards and if there is a charge.

Anyways Jesse thanks for the effort, very much appreciated as always. Ill ask Vehbi to hop in on this one as ill be needing to print tasks for other implementations anyways. I forgot my laptop battery charger in the office, its about to die.

If you do figure anything out about the nested tags id love to hear about it. Really desperate to solve this,

Its like that everywhere.

Yes right now I strategically pic my clients. I am not trying to compete where I know it will be an impossible fight.

Eventually we will compete with bigger systems.

I think you would be surprised just how many Shitty POS systems are out there. Those people are waiting for a SambaPOS to come along.

What I mean is if I see a restaurant on a well known system that I know is full featured and has excellent support… I wont waste my time there unless they come to me with some specific complaints on their POS and I can talk to them and see if thats good enough to switch for.

SambaPOS is not ready to compete there yet but we will be.

I agree… I see it. Id say 90% of companies have serious issues/ horrible ethics/ even worse installation and networking skill.

I think it can and were a few easy features away it just needs good developer support. If there is an issue 4 advanced developers need to hop on it immediately. I take reliability VERY seriously. If a client calls at 4am im up taking care of them lol.

I came across this the other day in Memphis.

They are horrible… their system looks right out of the 90s. Yet their clients are national recognized restaurants.

Several of their clients have been on foodnetwork multiple times.

LOL! I laugh when I see this stuff. I think thats a perfect example of how clueless restaurant management and owners are when choosing a pos system.

Central BBQ is world known institution in bbq in memphis so is Gus chicken I was shocked to see them as a client.

Its very likely they have 1 location and posted that. I work with cold stone and had the same oppertunity back in the day. Now they require focus pos. I had a meeting with the head guy to talk about samba. It just wasnt ready back then.

Anyway thats my point … there is a big market for us even now. We need to get those people so we can get more notice and that equals more revenue stream which gives more resources to compete.

I will be doing a lot of traveling and just visiting resellers and potential resellers as much as I can. I think what we need more than anything is just recognition. I had a ton of interest while at San Antonio. Self serve kiosks will be a big deal.

Any solid leads from that show? Id like to see you do a bar. Id be interested in your take on it.

I didnt go for me. I went for SambaPOS. That was not a public trade show. It was for networking access.

I went looking at hardware, payment processors, investors, resellers, technology partners. It had really good contacts from most of the top players in POS hardware and technology.

Its hard to say it all depends on what they need. But speed would be the primary focus.
