Order Line Separators

If anyone interested we can add separators between orders.

Update Ticket Line Separator action used for this.

… and [ORDERS:SEPARATOR] section used to print separators.

This is an experimental feature though. May not work as expected for all cases we can think of but it should work fine to send additional notes to kitchen.

You can also use Update Order Separator action to move order lines under a specific separator.

This is a little tricky as it is hard to determine if we should add a new separator or move order under an existing separator. I mean you should manually handle if you’ll allow separators that have same name. Key parameter does it. If you define a separator by Key (which can be obtained by {SEPARATOR KEY} it will use existing separator. If defined by Name and if it is a new order it will again use existing separator. Well hard to explain but you’ll get the idea when you try that with a specific use case.

Custom order by expressions sorts items alphabetically not numeric values of the expressions. You can use a custom expression like that <L>[=F(‘{CREATION MINUTES}’,‘00000000000’)] to sort them correctly but I think this work very slow… Next update (.58) will contain “Date” setting to sort tickets by ticket date.

@QMcKay should we sort items automatically by name if not sorted manually on entity screen? I think that will affect your customer selection screen and customer names appears alphabetically.

Yes, I would prefer all DB records be sorted alphabetically rather than by ID as it is now.

This is especially useful for a Customer Entity Grid. At this time, the Entities are sorted by ID (creation time) instead of alphabetically. The only way to overcome this is to turn off “Auto State Filter”, and add each Entity to the list manually, then sort them manually in that list, which as I have mentioned is a PITA since you need to do this via management every time you add a new Customer. Having * in State Filter is so much better, but then the Customers are not listed alphabetically.

While preparing tutorial I’ve noticed it will be useful to have a Round Amount setting for that action. That will be available with (.58)

###Implemented - Key Code Parameter added to Set NumberPad Value Action

The Key Code Parameter allows us to send special keyboard codes via this action.

Set numberpad value action did not support sending special key codes, but this is a good idea … I added a small feature to simulate keyboard inputs. You can use “Key Code” parameter in the Set NumberPad Value Action to send a keyboard key to the active screen. So setting keycode to 13 will be enter or 8 will be backspace.

Keycodes are similar to Custom Keyboard Code for enter, backspace, etc but this is keyboard hardware emulation so it is slightly different, so we use these values instead…
